Hey! Are you ready for some adventures outside Accra while practicing Twi language and learning about the Ashanti culture? Then this is THE TRIP for you!

During the Twi&Culture Weekend Trip you will learn useful phrases in Twi like introducing yourself and more + you can immediately practice your knowledge with our Twi speaking volunteers and other Twi speakers we will meet.

What else? This is not everything! We will be lodging at this beautiful guesthouse in the heart of Ashanti Region, and we have to make use of that! Beside the Twi meetings we will also do two days cultural tours in the area, visit the local church OR climb the holy mountain, do a fufu workshop and have a games night.

Our venue is Moon and Star Guesthouse, while staying here we will also support their social mission and school fees grant for young people in the community.


*ABOUT LANGUAGE CAFÉ ACCRA*

Language Café Accra facilitates offline meetings in Accra between language learners and native speakers of the language. During a meeting we will do short assignments and provide topic starters to have a real discussion. We are NOT a language course, but rather an "out of classroom experience" in addiction to a course or other way of learning the language you are already doing. You don't have to attend every meeting!

At this moment we offer Twi, French, Spanish, English and German meetings at four different venues in three areas of Accra. We have approximately 14 meetings a month, and all attract 10 - 25 people each time. Check out: theghanatraveller.com/accra-language-meetings/

*ABOUT MOON AND STAR GUESTHOUSE*

For over 10 years Moon and Star Guesthouse is a second home for backpackers, volunteers, local people and other travelers. The guesthouse is located in this beautiful area of the Ashanti Region (close to the capital Kumasi) in the village Banko. There are six rooms, a big garden and a terrace. The kitchen doesn't have a fixed menu, but every meal will be fresh and delicious.

While staying at the guesthouse you will also contribute to it's social mission to support several local projects in the community.

MENU
We will have late night snacks, lunch (2), breakfast (2) and dinner (1) at the guesthouse. The meals will be Ghanaian and intercontinental dishes. If you have any allergies or preferences leave them in the form.

COSTS & PAYMENT
1449GHS per person
A deposit of 400GHS has to be made to secure your spot. This amount is not refundable in case of cancellation (you will get a voucher). Maximum a week before departure you have to transfer the remaining part (this is, partly, refundable as stated in the terms&conditions below).

1149GHS per person without transportation from Accra.

Costs include:
5-hours transportation to Banko (and back to Accra), all transport during the trip, all meals at the guesthouse (fufu workshop), drinking water in the guesthouse, two nights accommodation, entrance fees to tourist sites, Twi meeting + ongoing Twi practicing with fluent speakers during the whole trip

Costs exclude:
Snacks/drinks + dinner on our way to Banko/Accra, additional drinks/other expenses at the guesthouse/during the trip

I am Jennifer, the founder of Language Café Accra and I am super excited for you to join this trip! My first time in Ghana was in 2013, and since then I have visited the country 10 times before I moved in September 2019. I have traveled the whole country (mainly solo), and know many places I would like you to see as well.

In June 2020 I got the idea for LCA, and in December 2020 we started with the first offline meetings in Twi. Soon after we started with French and German (we recently added Spanish and more to come!), and now I am super happy to offer language trips. I think the combination between languages/culture and tourism is amazing!
