Student U Virtual Tutoring 2020-2021
Thank you for your interest in tutoring our middle and high school students. Below you will find more information about the layout of our virtual tutoring program. Please complete the questions below.
During the school year, we host tutoring for our middle and high school students throughout the week. Generally, tutoring takes place at the W.G. Pearson Center, daily, during our Year-Round Program for our middle school students and on Tuesday and Thursday evenings for our high school students. Due to COVID-19, we will be hosting tutoring on a virtual platform throughout the spring semester. Tutoring is organized using Zoom breakout rooms and students have the option to work 1-on-1 with a tutor, in a small group session, and/or with peer groups. The main goal for our volunteer tutors is to help our students both complete and understand their homework. All DPS students are participating in virtual learning with their school so it is imperative that we have volunteers throughout the week during all of the allotted times. We are asking volunteers to commit to tutoring at least one day per week for the semester. On average, our volunteer tutors volunteer at least 1-2 hours a session. We look forward to working with you!
