Knitting a closer community
You may remember seeing a similar survey last year, however, the progress of the initiative was stalled temporarily. Armed with a better map and a team to work out the details together, we are ready to move forward. Even if you had responded to the previous survey, we would appreciate your response again.

Over the last several years we have seen significant changes to the island; in development, prosperity, tourism, and international exposure as a travel destination. With those changes also come growing pains, including crime.

Within the last year we have seen the local and national police force step up and add the Citizens On Patrol program, more presence in the community/streets, better response time to reported crime and an improved process for capturing alleged perpetrators. There is still room for improvement, but it is nice to see the effort that is moving us in the right direction.

But it is important that we ALL help in making our island a safe haven for our families and guests. To do this, the BTIA (Belize Tourism Industry Association) is spearheading an island-wide Neighborhood Watch initiative; with your help we will be able to build a strong community that is focused on the safety of the island.

Please fill out the short survey listed below; it will take less than a minute and is the first step towards a safer community.
