2025 AMHCA Annual Conference: Volunteer Interest Form

Application Due By March 31, 2025

Volunteer opportunities are open to all AMHCA members. AMHCA will prioritize student volunteers and those who identify as marginalized individuals or groups by self-report, such as people of color, people with disabilities, LGBTQ+, indigenous peoples, people of a lower socioeconomic status.

Expectations of the role:

·       Attending a training session (or two) prior to the event to orient yourself to the assigned tasks.

·       Assistance with check-in and check-out for attendees.

·       Assist at (registration) throughout the day answering questions and connecting people to assistance they need.

·       Introduction of speakers and moderator duties (as needed) in assigned sessions.

·       General assistance for attendees, speakers, vendors, and exhibitors as needed.

·       Volunteers may also be assigned to support the planning committee at the Welcome Reception and Awards Ceremony on Wednesday evening.

·       CEs will be awarded for sessions you fully attend (there may be some limitations on the CEs you receive based on the responsibilities assigned). This is also why there is a discount given to volunteers.

·       Once application is approved, volunteers will need to register for the conference within 7 days of session selection on SignUpGenius.Expectations of the role:

·       Applicants should be good problem-solvers with patience and kindness. They should be friendly, courteous, and helpful. Applicants should have overall good customer service skills.

5:00pm - 5:30pm: Clean Up/Close Out Day

Volunteer Consent, Waiver & Release of Liability: By agreeing to this wavier to serve as a conference volunteer. I agree to attend volunteer training on May 16, 2025 from 2:00 to 3:00 PM EDT via Zoom and 8:00am - 5:30pm of volunteer services at the conference. I waive and give up all rights to sue the American Mental Health Counselors Association, its staff, and leaders for any reason. This waiver includes, but is not limited to, personal injuries, disease, death, or property losses, and any claim you may have to seek damages. I understand that AMHCA will only cover a percentage of my registration ($100 discount only). AMHCA will not be responsible for my travel, lodging, food, or incidental expenses. I hold AMHCA harmless in all matters associated with my volunteerism.
