Please read and agree to the following before submitting your application. To be eligible to participate and be queen in Vernon Hills, the following must be agreed to:

Contestants must be between the ages of 11-15 by the pageant date.

Contestants must be able to attend interviews on June 8, 2024 at 9:00am and pageant on June 8, 2024 at 1:00pm

I am a resident of Vernon Hills with a Vernon Hills mailing address and a 60061 zip code.

I identify as a girl or woman.

I will serve as a Vernon Hills Queen until my successor is selected or appointed.

I will make myself available for interviews, personal appearances, testimonials and other various commitments that the Vernon Hills Pageant has made and will make for me.

I give permission for my likeness to be replicated in any media form as consented by the Vernon Hills Pageant at its sole discretion. Missing too many required events may result in relinquishing my title to the first runner up.

I understand that I may not compete in another pageant other than the Lake County Illinois Scholarship Pageant without the direct permission of the Vernon Hills Pageant Directors.

I understand that I may not be a current titleholder of another pageant.

I have never given up a Vernon Hills or Lake County title.

The contestant agrees that by competing in the 2024 Vernon Hills Pageant she will not compete in another LCIS affiliated town pageant in the 2024 season. LCIS affiliated towns include Antioch, Fox Lake Area, Grayslake, Gurnee, Lindenhurst, Mundelein, Northern Lakes, Round Lake Area, Vernon Hills, Wadsworth, and Winthrop Harbor.

If I become ineligible for any reason, I will immediately relinquish my crown and prizes to the next eligible runner-up. The Vernon Hills Pageant committee will administer this provision with the utmost integrity and sensitivity.

I understand that as a Vernon Hills Queen, I am representing Vernon Hills and must therefore dress and act appropriately. This includes not only while at pageant events but also how I choose to represent myself in my personal life and online. If the Vernon Hills Pageant committee deems a behavior inappropriate, I may be forced to relinquish my title to the next eligible runner up, depending on the severity of my behavior.

If crowned Junior Miss Vernon Hills, I may not partake in alcoholic beverages, illegal drugs, vaping, or smoking of any kind during my reign. If I am of legal age, I will refrain from drinking alcohol and vaping/smoking while wearing my Miss Vernon Hills crown and sash. I may not drink or vape/smoke at any pageant functions.

If crowned Junior Miss Vernon Hills, I must agree to behave like a queen on all social media platforms including Tik Tok, Instagram, Snapchat, etc. Anything the directors disapprove of, must be removed immediately without question.

If crowned Junior Miss Vernon Hills, I may not marry or become pregnant during my reign.

Parents/guardians understand that should their contestant win the pageant, there will be dozens of events throughout the year that queens must attend. The nature of these events vary, but the queens are always volunteers for the events. Additionally, siblings or friends of queens will not receive special accommodations for any events at which the queens volunteer.

Both contestant and parent(s) understand that we are participating in the pageant on a voluntary basis and that there will be many qualified, talented, smart, and engaging contestants who participate. We appreciate that one of the principal benefits of our involvement in the pageant is the experience the contestants receive throughout the process and having a successful pageant experience is not determined by the final decision. We also understand that the pageant is staffed by volunteers whose job is made very difficult due to the number of qualified contestants. We agree that we will not challenge or complain about the pageant process or the final decisions. We know the Pageant staff are volunteers who are involved so that the contestants can benefit from the entire experience of being involved in a pageant and not just the final decisions.
