Rules and Team Requirements

Team Roster:

  1. Team Composition: Teams must have a minimum of 12 players with at least 2 team members being females.  A team may have more female players and can play them at their discretion. Players must be 19 years of age or older.  At least 1 female player will always be on the field.
  2. Player Eligibility: All players must be registered and listed on the team roster before the tournament begins. No substitutions from outside the roster are allowed.
  3. Game Duration: Games will consist of 7 innings or a time limit of 60 minutes, whichever comes first. No new inning will start after the time limit.
  4. Run Rule: A mercy rule will be in effect if a team is ahead by 10 or more runs after 5 innings.
  5. Scorekeeping: Each team will supply a person to keep the score book up to date while the team is playing. The person does not have to be the same with each game played.

Batting and Fielding

  1. Batting Order: The batting order must include 1 female at all times.
  2. Courtesy Runners: Courtesy runners are allowed but must be of the same gender as the player being replaced. Each team is allowed one courtesy runner per inning.
  3. Field Positions: For the female player(s)…at the Team Captains discretion.
  4. Pitching: Pitchers must deliver the ball with an underhand motion. The pitching distance will be 50 feet from home plate.

Gameplay

  1. Home Runs: Limit the number of over-the-fence home runs to 3 per team per game. Any additional home runs will be counted as singles.
  2. Sliding: Sliding is allowed, but players must avoid contact with fielders. Intentional collisions will result in an automatic out and possible ejection.
  3. Substitutions: Free substitutions are allowed, but players must maintain the gender balance on the field.
  4. Protests: Any protests must be made before the next pitch. The tournament committee will review and make a final decision.

Sportsmanship

  1. Conduct: All players, coaches, and spectators are expected to exhibit good sportsmanship. Unsportsmanlike conduct, including arguing with umpires, will result in warnings or ejections.
  2. Alcohol and Tobacco: The use of alcohol and tobacco products is prohibited on the field and in the dugout areas.
  3. Injuries: In case of injury, play will be stopped immediately. Injured players must be cleared by a medical professional before returning to the game.

Additional Considerations

  1. Weather Delays: In case of inclement weather, the tournament committee will determine if games need to be postponed or rescheduled.
  2. Tie-Breakers: In the event of a tie, extra innings will be played with each team starting with a runner on second base until a winner is determined.
  3. Winner and Runner Up: the tournament is a Double Elimination style tournament.  The Winner and Runner Up will be determined in the last game played for the day.
  4. Uniforms: Each team is responsible for their own team shirts.  All team shirts will need to be the same color, and it is recommended they be the same style. The team’s name will need to be displayed on the front and the players’ number will need to be on the back. If there are sponsors for your shirts, we suggest the logo be placed on a sleeve or in a place that does not interfere with the team’s name and player number.
  5. Equipment Needed: The Daleville Area Chamber of Commerce will provide game balls and umpires.  The Daleville Recreation Department will provide fields in good standing and chalk before the tournament begins. 
  6. Refreshments: The concession stand will be open for food and drinks and the restrooms will be open for use. 

Registration Fee Amount:  $100 Deadline for entry is Friday, April 4, 2025
