NYS DMV Online Learner's Permit Testing
Students may take their Learner’s Permit Test online at Amherst Central High School.  The test is given in the Main Office by appointment only.  Students who are within 2 months of their 16th birthday and currently enrolled and in good standing at Amherst High School are eligible.  NOTE: the test is only for Amherst High School students.   Manuals are available in the Main Office and online on the NYS DMV website.  There is no fee to take the test at ACHS.  

After passing the online exam, students will be given all of the information/paperwork needed to take to the Dept. of Motor Vehicles in order to apply for a Learner's Permit.   The DMV fees are still required and must be paid in order obtain your permit.  Students must be 16 years old in order to drive with the Learner's Permit.
