Beginning Fishing: Basic instruction for the beginning angler. Topics covered include knot tying, bait selection, fish biology, and casting. (1 hour)

Beginning Fishing with fishing (2-4 Hours)

Beginning Catfishing : Basic instruction on how to catch Channel Catfish. Topics include knots, rigs, baits, safe handling and where to fish. (1 hour)

Beginning Catfishing with fishing (2-4 hours)

Beginning Trout Fishing : Basic instruction on how to catch Rainbow Trout. Topics included are knots, tackle selection, baits, rigs, and where to fish. (1 Hour)

Beginning Trout Fishing with fishing (2-4 Hours)

Beginning Casting: Basic casting instruction. Casting games can be included. (time depends on group size)

Fish Dissection: Basic instruction on how to dissect a Channel Catfish. The AGFC will supply fish and dissection tools. Ages 12 and up (45 mintues)

Lure Craft: Students (12 and up) are instructed on feeding habits of Black Bass. The predator/prey relationships are discussed. The students then design four lures. (top water, minnow type, shad body and deep river) When finished with their designs, they will share their design logic. Students will then be given blank lures to paint for later use. (45 minutes)

Beginning Fly Tying: (16 max) Students (12 and up) are taught basic fly tying principles and instructed in the construction of a wooly bugger. (1 hour minimum)

Beginning Fly Fishing: (16 max) Basic instruction on how to fly fish is covered. Topics include fly casting knots, rod selection, how to set up a fly reel, tackle and bait. Time will be allotted for casting instruction. (1 Hour)

Alligators and Turtles: Learn all about the American Alligator and turtles that live in Arkansas. A live alligators and turtles are part of the class. (15-30 mins)

Aquatic Careers: Discuss careers that are available in the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission with an emphasis on fisheries careers. (15-45 mins)

Clean and Cook Your Catch: (15 people max) Learn how to process your own catch. You will be able to sample the finished product. You will be able to take your fish from the hook to the plate. (2 hours)

Paddle Fishing: (ages 16 and up): This class is for people who are already paddlers and would like to begin fishing from their canoe or kayak. Topics covered will include loading your kayak, equipment needed, and other items.

Other: We can provide instruction on almost any topic in the Arkansas angling world. Intermediate and advanced level topics can be covered as well. We can custom fit a topic to your needs.
