2024 DTC Adult Camp Scholarship Application 
Scholarships to Diabetes Training Camp (DTC) are intended to cover a portion or all of the registration fee for camp based on applicant need. Scholarships do not include travel expenses, bike rentals or other incidentals. DTC scholarships will not be awarded to the same camper in consecutive years. The application process is a competitive process as DTC has limited funding for scholarships. Awards are based on the information you provide to us so please be as detailed as possible.

Each year we offer specific named scholarships in honor of DTC philanthropic trailblazers.  Applying for a named scholarship is not required to be awarded financial assistance but if you feel your qualifications match you can request to be considered for one.  The available named scholarships are described below:

Dr. John Corcoran- The recipient will work in or have plans to work in a career in a health related or teaching field. The recipient will be a contributor to the community, (i.e. volunteer work), and is committed to living a healthy lifestyle in mind, body and spirit. The recipient will convey empathy and compassion for others, thriving in situations where there is an opportunity helping others feel valued and special.  The recipient will have a thirst for knowledge and is always looking to better themselves. 

Grant Curry- The recipient will demonstrate resilience, a positive and empowering spirit, a passion for art and creativity as well as a passion for supporting others as they overcome challenges.  The recipient will demonstrate an ability to rise above challenges, including the challenges of diabetes and continue to forge ahead no matter the setbacks or struggles. The recipient will have a positive and empowering spirit and a strong passion for cycling or other sport. The recipient will also have a commitment to helping others, and ways to illustrate that commitment.      

Jess King Fredel- The recipient will demonstrate a deep love of community and bringing people together as well as a passion for learning, travel and empowerment.  The recipient will appreciate and celebrate differences while encouraging others to be accepting and fair.  The recipient will be generous with time and resources, working to improve the lives of others.

Nik King Fredel- The recipient will demonstrate a courageous and compassionate spirit with a passion for fighting hard for their beliefs as well as a determination to live the life they want to live regardless of setbacks and challenges. The recipient will lead with kindness and an accepting and inclusive spirit.  They will be dedicated and work toward educating others to make the world a better place and leading by example.

DTC has a limited scholarship pool. Historically, the scholarship selection committee has had to make difficult decisions in terms of granting partial or full scholarships. Based on the cost of camp ($2375) how much are you able to contribute towards your DTC camp experience? *
