The Rev. Marvin Dozier Character and Community Scholarship will be awarded to students who display a long-term commitment to service and higher education.

The Rev. Marvin Dozier Character and Community Scholarship will be granted to 2 High School Seniors who have demonstrated strong character skills, growth and a commitment to the community through service.

• Must be graduating high school senior (priority is given to former participants of SYA programs and SYA employees but ALL applicants will be considered)
• Demonstrates strong academic ability, growth, and achievement
• Has been accepted to and plans to attend a full time, 2 or 4 year college in the Fall of 2024
• Has completed at least 80 hours of community service throughout high school career
• Demonstrates leadership abilities
• Exhibits a passion for social justice and equity
• Is extremely motivated and can achieve in the midst of challenges

2. Finalists will be invited to participate in an interview with the Executive Director and/or members of the Board
