Thank you for applying to Aggies Reaching Out! Applications will be due on Friday, February 1st. You may receive an email containing interview sign-ups for a date that works for you, these will be held in on Zoom at a time that works best for you.
(A suggestion is to type your responses in a word or google document first, and copy and paste into this form to submit your answers.) Decisions will be sent out by Wednesday, September 13th.
Please read the following information in order to understand the commitments you are applying for:
ARO Grand Prairie (End of Spring Semester)
This will be our spring semester trip where we travel to Grand Prairie for a day and mentor 8th graders at Kennedy Middle School. We will shadow students throughout the day and facilitate educational and team building activities after school. Being with students for a longer period of time allows counselors to truly invest time in their future and create a bond with the students they work with.
Activities during the semester include volunteering opportunities with the Boys and Girls club as well as Big Event. We are a low time commitment service organization that strives to inform disadvantaged middle schoolers on higher education in hopes of a better future.
If accepted into the organization, you will be required to pay $25 in dues per semester. Dues will cover ARO expenses necessary to make this year successful. We will have monthly required general meetings on Thursday evenings as well as committee meetings that meet throughout the month.
