Tom DeBerry Junior National Grant Application
One of Tom’s (Tom DeBerry, NENY PGA longtime PGA Professional & Hall of Fame Member) biggest passions was teaching juniors his beloved game of golf. The Purpose of the Tommy D. Junior Player National Grant Application s to provide financial assistance to Northeastern New York Junior members with goals of playing in regional and national tournaments. Our goal is to assist local area junior golfers and their families with the financial expenses, including transportation/lodging/meals/entry fees, etc. associated with these regional and national events. By doing so, the PGA NENY Reach Foundation helps to take an active roll and give back and provide the ability to play in such competitions as desired to help create incredible life experiences through the game of golf in addition to increasing a player's ability and opportunities to earn more recognition such as collegiate exposure and scholarships.
One grant will be intended to be awarded annually, dependent upon grant submissions and grant amount can range from $1,500-$2,500.
Guidelines:
- Be at least 13 years of age and not have graduated high school
- Be a resident of Northeastern New York Section (live within the geographical boundaries of the section)
- Has not received a college scholarship
- Completed all sections of the application
- Provide performance record to include results and scoring details
- Provide a tentative current schedule for this upcoming year
