Tampa Connection is now accepting applications from local nonprofits for our 2021-22 Tampa Connection program! Please read below and submit an application by June 30, 2021 if your nonprofit organization has a project they would like to be considered.

Since 1986, Tampa Connection has prepared more than 2,500 professionals to become active volunteers and leaders in the Tampa Bay community while building lasting relationships with peers in a variety of industries. The program, consisting of class learning days and execution of a project for a local nonprofit, encourages leadership development, community awareness and personal growth.

Each year, local nonprofit organizations submit project proposals to the Tampa Connection Board of Directors for consideration. A limited number of nonprofit projects are selected to be carried out by the Tampa Connection class members during the program year (September – May). Project teams, consisting of approximately 10-15 members, are asked to take full responsibility for the planning and implementation of the projects selected, and work with the nonprofit throughout the process. We encourage you to be creative in identifying a meaningful project that would benefit your organization and utilize this resource to the fullest. The most successful projects have the following characteristics:

• Tangible
• Well-defined by the organization
• Goal-oriented
• Achievable within 6 months

All nonprofit project applications will be reviewed and discussed by the Tampa Connection Board on July 27, 2021. All applicants will be notified whether they were selected as a finalist after the July 27 meeting. Project finalists will be asked to make a brief presentation to the board members on August 17, 2021 in the afternoon or early evening. If chosen for the program, organizations are expected to attend our Purpose and Projects program on October 21, 2021 (new date) to explain your project and expectations to the Tampa Connection class members who will be working on your project. Organizations are also expected to attend monthly team meetings to ensure the project is on track and meeting the needs of the nonprofit.

If your organization would like to submit a project idea for consideration, please complete an application as soon as possible. No applications will be accepted after June 30, 2021.
