The MCC Ambassador Choir’s purpose is to broaden our musical presence in the Mankato community. MCC regularly gets requests to sing for our community at various events—sporting events, community gatherings, etc.—but due to the shorter timelines or the timing of the event, it has been difficult to take advantage of these opportunities to showcase MCC talent and the value of choral singing. As a result, MCC has formed the Ambassador Choir, which will perform at events where our full choirs cannot perform.
Members of this choir are accepted from ALL MCC choirs with no audition and no additional fees. Rehearsals are only added as needed, before or after normal Monday night rehearsals. The uniform is the MCC Polo, nice jeans and an Ambassador Choir pin worn above the logo on the polo. Each Ambassador Choir member will receive one pin when they register. Lost pins may be replaced for $5.
Completion of this form indicates the agreement of the parent and member to participate in all events possible throughout the season. Participation in the Ambassador Choir is open to all but does require a certain level of commitment. While MCC regular performances are scheduled at least 4 weeks in advance, singers in Ambassador Choir might have only a 2 week notice to sing at an event. We know not all performances will be possible for all of the Ambassador Singers, but in order for this choir to work, we must have a good turn out at each event. We want to present our best performance, so in the case that we do not have a large enough number of Ambassador Singers, the choir will not participate in the event.
