The Talent Development Program (TDP) at Marist Sisters’ College Woolwich aims to develop the talents of all performing arts students involved or interested in dance, drama and music. This is an exciting program where students are extended and encouraged to follow their passions by industry professional tutors, who closely monitor students and advise them on the path that will best challenge and extend their techniques and skills.
In 2023, students are welcomed to participate in style based companies, which focus on making dance accessible to all students whilst developing the physical, creative and intellectual development of each student. Companies:
Are open to all students who wish to be involved, students may participate in multiple styles/companies.
Work towards a high level routine.
Perform at weekend eisteddfods and a variety of College events.
A year long commitment.
Capped at approximately 25 students due to spacing requirements.*
An open lesson will run in Week 3 to break students into the appropriate company groups in preparation for company commencement in Week 4. Students wishing to join an ensemble are invited to fill in the following form.
In electing to join an ensemble, it is important that all members of the group are committed to rehearsals and their parents similarly support this co-curricular activity. As a group activity, it is vital students are present at rehearsals to foster a sense of community and excellence amongst the company. A participation contract for students to sign will be distributed in Week 4 when Company groupings have been finalised.
Participation in the MSCW TDP Dance involves a fee of $70 per term. This fee covers the ongoing cost of tutor expenses and entry fees for eisteddfods. Students will also be required to pay a one off costume fee of up to $100 (per ensemble) for the year, students who pay this fee retain the costume at the end of the year.
Involvement in the Talent Development Programme is a rewarding experience. Please contact me at the College if you have any queries or would like to discuss your daughter joining the program.
