“Judging by the cover, reading between the lines"
What we can learn about Russia from looking at Russian books with Kirill Tolpygo, Slavic & East European Librarian, Davis Library.

We will explore seemingly superficial elements of Russian publications such as production values, print runs, and age marking to see what they can reveal about the relationship of government and society in Russia and the role of print culture in the life of the country. This is not a lecture! Get ready to get your hands dirty and handle some Russian books. Participants will examine a variety of Russian publications, ask questions, and look for answers together.

The event is Wednesday, October 6th at 3PM in Davis Library 246.

Because this is an in-person event, we have limited number of spots. The spots are first come, first served, so please register as soon as possible.
