We are pleased to announce the highlight event of the year, our JK Swire Annual Dinner and Lecture. Our guest speaker, Graham Braithwaite, will put fun into a serious topic of A Journey through Safety Culture.

Graham is fascinated by the many elements that combine to achieve aviation safety and the ‘glue’ that is culture. Whilst there is much talk of a thing called ’safety culture’ these days, there are so many elements of culture that influence the way we communicate, learn and interact with each other - and in turn, have an effect on safety.

Professor Graham Braithwaite is Director of Transport Systems at Cranfield University - one of the eight themes the Safety and Accident Investigation Centre, Centre for Air Transport Management; Advanced Vehicle Engineering Centre; Centre for Engineering Photonics and National Flying Laboratory Centre. He also holds a Chair in Safety and Accident Investigation. He completed a BSc (Hons) degree in Transport Management and Planning and a PhD in Aviation Safety Management from Loughborough University and in 2012, was given the honour of ‘Distinguished Alumni’ for his work in aviation safety and education.
