Hello! We're happy that you are interested in being a summer intern at BARN. Our program currently consists of two options:
1.) Paid internship - for individuals aged 16 and up. Paid interns primarily support our summer youth programs and will engage in the following activities:
- Checking in and checking out students each day
- Assisting instructors in summer youth classes
- Taking photos of youth classes
- Administering and processing evaluations at the end of each week
- Overseeing lunch hour for students who elect to stay at BARN over the lunch hour
- Assisting with physical setup and cleanup for classes
- Helping with some administrative work such as making copies, greeting at the front desk, etc.
The duration of our paid internship program in 2022 is from July 7 - August 11, Monday - Thursday, 5 hours a day for a total of 105 hours over the course of the 5 1/2 weeks. Stipend is $12/hour; also paid interns will receive a BARN membership for the duration of the internship and will be able to use members discount for classes. In 2022 we plan to hire 2-3 paid interns for the program.
2.) Unpaid internship - for individuals aged 14 and up. Unpaid interns may support summer youth classes in the ways mentioned above, and/or help BARN in other ways that fit the intern's interest and background and meet a need at BARN.
Application process:
1.) Complete this application by May 15
2.) Participate in an interview with BARN Youth Programs Coordinator.
3.) You will be notified whether you have been accepted as an intern by May 25
4.) If selected, you will sign a copy of a contract outlining the terms of the intern agreement.
