The Gold Humanism Honor Society would like to cordially invite you to “A Night of Storytelling”. This is an opportunity for interdisciplinary healthcare professionals, students, and trainees to share a personal experience around a theme of their choice during their time in healthcare. These stories can be personal or reflections on your role within the healthcare field. Upon submission, we will review the stories with an eye towards a clear theme and meeting the guidelines below - but don’t worry about perfection before submitting! We are happy to work with you to refine your story after submission.
If accepted, we would like you to tell your story yourself at our live event on 4/21! If you want to submit a story but have concerns about reading it yourself, please let us know.
When: Thursday, April 21, 2022
Where: HSLC Atrium (if in-person events are allowed at the time)
Themes: Healing, Empathy, Resilience, Connection → see document below for more ideas!
Submission Deadline: February 25, 2022. You will hear from one of the event coordinators with initial feedback by March 4, 2022.
Guidelines:
- Stories should be 5-10 minutes in length (about 750-1000 words)
- Stories should be told without PowerPoints, backing images, or props
- All stories must be HIPAA compliant; any patient account must be de-identified
