Teacher Partnership Training Session

Interested in sharing your love for science in a classroom? If so, then we have the perfect volunteering program for you! The UBC Let’s Talk Science Partnership Program matches volunteers or pair of students from UBC into K-12 classrooms in Vancouver. The volunteer(s) lead the class in hands-on/minds-on science activities as a means to engage children and youth and get them interested in the sciences.
No experience necessary, everyone is welcome.  If you’re interested, Come out to our TPP training session! (Details below)

Program Expectations of Volunteers
• Rank your preference of teachers to get matched (teacher list will be sent later in Oct)
• Make 3 visits to your partner school throughout the year 2019-2020
• Log your visits on the Let’s Talk Science Portal
• If you are new to TPP, attend mandatory training on Oct 19th, 2018 (10:30am-1pm MSL 102) if you cannot attend still sign up but note that in your application.

So come on out to the training session! We will go over the basics and logistics of being a LTS volunteer as well as practice activities and lesson planning so that you’re prepared and confident going out into the classroom. Come out for a fun and instructional morning!
