Yakima Arboretum: Ecosystem Investigation
When: October 4, 2022  9:45am-12pm - Bring a picnic lunch (optional).

What: Yakima Arboretum: Ecosystem Investigation

Where: Yakima Arboretum, 1401 Arboretum Dr., Yakima, WA 98901

Suggested age range: All ages, K-6 focused but interesting for older students and adults alike.

From the Arboretum website, "In this kindergarten through 6th grade field trip, students will explore the natural world of Eastern Washington through the Ecosystems Investigation mini-lessons. Through hands-on and interactive lessons your student’s curiosity of the natural world will lead them to knowledge and discovery. Students break into groups and travel from station to station learning about the Central Washington ecosystem."

The three stations we will be participating in this year are: Sockeye Scents, Skulls, and Habitat Creation.

We will spend about two hours rotating through the three stations.

Optional afternoon activities: If you wish, pack a picnic to enjoy at the Arboretum and complete an Arboretum scavenger hunt in the afternoon.
