YAA BIPOC Scholarship Application
YAA is pleased to announce a new performing arts scholarship fund for black, indigenous, and students of color.

Purpose:
The purpose of these scholarships is to:
1. discover promising and deserving musical talent among students of color in the national capital region, and
2. provide financial support for the selected students to train and perform during the 2020-2021 Season with one of the area’s finest performing arts programs— Young Artists of America at Strathmore

YAA Young Artists of America (YAA) is a nonprofit youth performing arts program based in the Washington DC metropolitan area. YAA trains some of the region’s most gifted and committed students with year-round classes, performance opportunities, and a month-long summer intensives program. We work with about 500+ students per year and perform for 5,000+ audience members at world-class venues like the Kennedy Center and the Music Center at Strathmore, which is our home stage. What makes us different from other performing ensembles is that we perform with our own full youth orchestra and collaborate with creatives from Broadway and the classical music industry. We’ve won several local accolades including a regional Emmy award. More information on YAA can be found at ‪YAA.org‬
