Clinical Traditions (CT) is a small medicinal herb Farm & Apothecary located in and serving Jacksonville, FL. We are growing our team of herbalists by hiring for the 2023 Market Apothecary position. Adding to our team is aligned with our mission to "Encourage the Herbalist in You," because we coach our new hires to be capable herbalists while providing an engaging atmosphere for them to learn and make a difference in other peoples lives!
ABOUT Clinical Traditions:
We rent a quarter acre farm plot to grow the majority of the herbs we use for our Herbal Remedies. We only use fresh, organic, & regeneratively grown herbs for these remedies to ensure the potency and effectiveness.
The Apothecary consists of herbalist formulated herbal teas, tinctures & tonics. The apothecary is available for in-person shopping at the mobile apothecary, which sets up weekly from 10-3 at the Saturday Riverside Arts Market: 715 Riverside Ave, Jacksonville, FL 32204. Additionally, we plan to expand (with our new market crew!) to a Saturday Jax Beach Farmers Market.
The owner & founder is Clinical Herbalist & organic Farmer: Kaki Bryan. Before starting CT, Kaki devoted 2,000 hours of formal training to studying herbalism and holistic health coaching. After herbalism school, she was employed for a full season as a farm-hand, apothecary aide and market sales position at an herb farm in Pennsylvania. After those experiences, in 2020, Kaki came back to Florida to open Clinical Traditions Herb Co. so she could serve her community as best as she knew possible: with local, natural wellness remedies.
ABOUT THE JOB:
The Market Apothecary position is part-time work, where you decide the number of Saturdays you're able to work per month and commit to that.
The usual tasks of the Market Apothecary position consists of loading up the market booth set-up into your personal vehicle (this includes: tables, 7ft tent, display boxes and products), driving to the market, arriving by 9 am to set-up, working the booth for the 5 hour shift (10-3), and then breaking down the booth, packing it up and dropping off the materials at a set location.
The full shift is approximately 8:30 am until 4:30 pm, the estimated time when you will be fully unloaded and done for the day. The pay is $120 for the day, or $15/hour.
It is recommended to bring your own drinks and lunch/snacks for the day as there are long lines at the market food trucks. Bathrooms are available at the market for use.
You will be selling the full Apothecary product line: herbal teas, tinctures (alcohol extracts) and vinegar extracts (or as we, at CT, call them- 'tonics'). We also have seasonal fresh herbal bouquets (for tea or DIY herbal extracts) and live plant starts available to the public. All details of the products ( ie: "what they are good for", some brief energetic notes, and the ingredients) will be listed for the Market Apothecary hire to reference and learn from.
New hire must be willing to sign an employment contract committing their ability to work agreed upon Saturday shifts for the rest of this year (2023).
