2020 Menard County Farm Bureau Foundation Scholarship Application
Purpose: to enhance interest in and financially support young people with an interest in agriculture

Funding: this scholarship is funded by the Menard County Farm Bureau Foundation

Amount: Three scholarships are to be awarded as a one time $1,000 amount. Payment will be made to the financial aid office of the appropriate institution for the benefit of the recipient

Eligibility: High school seniors, whose immediate family are members of Menard County Farm Bureau in good standing, and who are enrolled in full-time study in one of the following schools: Athens, Greenview or PORTA; are accepted at an accredited 4-year college or university, a 2-year junior college, or a trade school; and Have fully completed the application and essay requirements

Procedures: Applications and essays must be presented to the office of the Menard County Farm Bureau by 2:00 p.m. on March 27th.

Essay must be original and created by the applicant. They must be more than 250 words, but less than 500. The theme for 2020 is "Discuss a technological development in agriculture in the last five years. Has it been an asset or detriment to agriculture? Support your opinion." Content, adherence to the theme, grammar, spelling, and punctuation will be judged. Fifty percent of the overall score is based on the essay. *

The essay is my original work. I understand the $1,000 scholarship will be sent to the financial aid office of the college that I am enrolled. You may use my name and pictures for promotion of the scholarship if I am selected as a recipient. *
Applications and essay must be presented to the office of the Menard County Farm Bureau, 101 E Jefferson, Petersburg, IL 62675 by 2:00 p.m. on March 27th.
