For the first time ever, Floretta P. Carson Visual and Performing Arts
Academy (FPC VPAA) is offering students ages 12-18 (who have not
graduated high school) with the opportunity to engage in 4 weeks (June 5-30, 2023) of
intensive arts training. The mission of the Floretta P. Carson Summer
Performing Arts Institute is to provide collegiate preparatory arts training to
students who would typically not have access this type of program or
training. All of our 2023 programming will take place in Mobile, AL, giving
students the opportunity to learn about various arts disciplines and to
sharpen their artistic skills. Each of our programs will be led by FPC VPAA
Artist Faculty and give students the opportunity to dive deeply into their
chosen major, while developing their technical skills and artistic capacities.
The program welcomes and celebrates students from around Mobile to join
together in our global community of artists.
Please
note that the program is intended for students who are currently in high
school/secondary school and who will not graduate before the
program begins. Generally, this means that students in the program are aged
12-17, but have not completed grade 12. Priority will be given to students who have had at least one year of instruction in their chosen area of study.
