Welcome to the 2023-24 School and
Classroom Enrichment Grant application process. The Mt. Vernon
Education Foundation is pleased to provide direct-to-classroom funding for Mt.Vernon Community School Corporation teachers. As the District’s philanthropic partner, we support public education by partnering with private foundations, individuals, and corporate partners to make strategic program investments so
that all Mt. Vernon students have the opportunity to succeed.
We understand how important these classroom grants are to help fund innovative, engaging, and transformative projects that really make a difference in the educational attainment of your students. celebrating our 16th year of serving as a resource partner for educational excellence for our Mt. Vernon students.

Incomplete applications, or those that do not meet our criteria, will not be considered.
PROJECT FOCUS
Priority will be given to grant proposals
that focus on the following:
1. Experiential Learning Opportunities, including
outside the classroom
2. Real World Learning Experiences
3. Project Based Learning
4. Project or experience that helps students gain
skills and career readiness as identified in the Graduation Pathway.
FUNDS
WILL NOT be provided for projects requesting funds for:
➢Staff salaries or substitute teacher costs
➢The same proposal submitted by multiple teachers from the same school
➢Personal honorariums for the applicants
➢Field trips or equipment, unless they are an integral part of the curriculum
program
➢Programs that are state-mandated or existing programs funded by another organization
➢ Replication of a grant awarded in the previous academic year by the same grantee
REQUIREMENTS
Grant applicants must be a:
✓ Pre K-12 public school teacher or staff member in the Mt. Vernon Community School Corporation
Please be sure your grant application meets the following criteria:
✓ Typed
✓ Approved by your Principal but no signature is needed
✓ All grant application questions are answered fully
✓ Does not include a title page, letters of support, or other attachments
✓ Does not use educational acronyms (judges are not always familiar with their usage or meaning)
✓ No more than two submissions from any teacher, in a team or individually
✓ The grant application must be submitted to

Important Information
The electronic application is due, at 5:00 pm. No late applications accepted! The recipient will receive notification of the award in late October.
Grant funding ranges from A Minimum $500 Award to A Maximum $3000 Award
Reminders for 2023-2024 Typed electronic applications ONLY will be accepted.
Evaluation Process Each application will be reviewed, evaluated, and scored by a grant
selection committee made of educators and community volunteers. Volunteers will evaluate according to the criteria listed above and answers provided by the applicant(s)
Incomplete applications will be disqualified!
MVEF attempts to fully fund as many projects as possible and tries to avoid partial funding when possible. However, in some cases, project costs are incremental, and a scaled-down version can proceed with partial funds.
