University Theatre invites playwrights, directors, and actors to create something special this Saturday. Quick Scripts is a night of 10-minute plays written, directed, and performed by local theatre makers in record time.

Playwrights are provided a prompt, a few guidelines, and 24 hours to create a 10-minute script. Directors are then provided the script and 24 hours to research and cast the play. Performers are provided the script 24 hours before opening to read and research before joining the full team for a day of blocking and rehearsals.

Quick Scripts focuses on raw story telling through collaboration, stripped of lavish scenery, costumes, and lighting.

To be considered for casting, please fill out this form. You will need to send a 90-seconds or less video artistic statement. These videos should not be overly complicated or produced, in fact we welcome video submissions by camera phone simply answer the following prompt:
Tell us a bit about yourself, your approach(es) to performance, how you prefer to rehearse, and what stories you like to tell.

These videos will be utilized as your audition for the four different plays. Directors will receive their script on June 16 at 7pm, actors will be cast, notified and provided a digital script on June 17 at 7pm.

Actors should be available for rehearsal this Saturday based on the groups schedule.
Call will be 7pm Saturday night
Performance is 8pm Saturday night
All casts will be seated on stage during roughly 1-hour performance.
