- Register for M140 before your evaluation (M140 A = Strings; M140-B = Winds)
- Seating Evaluations will take place the first week of each semester
- Returning orchestra members must sign-up each year for seating placement
- Choose a day and a time to audition. Select only 1 time. No duplicates.
- Add this time to your personal calendar.
- Arrive at least 10 minutes prior to your time.
- You are expected to be tuned and warm-up prior to your audition.
- Evaluations will be held in Scales 105 (Instrumental Office Suite)
- If a student cannot audition during the available time slots, an audition may be scheduled by emailing Dr. Hardwick (hardwicj@wfu.edu).
Symphony Orchestra (MSC 140) Seating Evaluation Requirements:
- A solo work, section, or movement from the standard literature (no longer than 10 minutes).
- One major and one minor scale should be prepared, preferably in three octaves (two octaves for bass and wind/brass instruments).
- Accompaniment is not required.
This evaluation is used for seating purposes, is an opportunity to showcase your abilities as an instrumentalist, and get to know you as a potential ensemble member.
