Questionnaire to the Citizens of Bengaluru

We are conducting this questionnaire to understand the opinions and perspectives of the citizens of Bengaluru regarding the use of bamboo to reduce climate change impacts in the city. The goal of the survey is to collect responses from citizens to effectively formulate the project proposal "The Bamboo City - a Nature Based Development Model for  Regenerative Cities- A case of Bengaluru 2035" under C40 Cities: Women4Climate Cohort programme. 

By collecting your responses, we aim to better understand your opinions. Your input is crucial in helping us shape effective strategies and initiatives that can make a positive difference in making our Bengaluru, a Regenerative City.

Bamboo helps in combating air pollution by absorbing carbon dioxide and releasing more oxygen. It also helps in increasing ground water recharge by absorbing more rain water due to its wider root system.

How familiar are you with bamboo as a sustainable resource?

Bamboo is a highly effective carbon sink (one newly planted bamboo sapling can sequester 2 tons of carbon dioxide in just 7 years. In comparison, a typical hardwood tree will sequester 1 ton of carbon dioxide in 40 years) and  bamboo is an effective air purifier that gives oxygen 24 hours a day.

Will you plant a bamboo sapling, if provided at zero cost, in your neighbourhood? All it needs is one bucket of water/day (recycled water will also do).
