In order to participate, CDA requires all Coach's acknowledge and make their debaters aware of the CDA Code of Conduct.  The Code may be found on the CDA website:  http://ctdebate.org/PDFs/CDA%20Code%20of%20Conduct.pdf .

We need tournament hosts.  If you are interested in hosting this year, please check the date(s) that might work for you.  This is not a commitment to host.  We will contact you to answer your questions and confirm the details.

CDA is in need of more trained staffers for Tab, the Judges' Workshop and the Board of Directors.

Last year we permitted the use of electronic devices--laptops and tablets--for case prep and note taking.  For two years of online debate debaters used them for these purposes as well as for communication.  We recommend continuing this policy.  The use of these devices to access the internet or others for research, to obtain help, or to store research materials will continue to be prohibited.  (This is merely a survey question, and not a vote on policy.)

Students are not currently involved in running the CDA.  It has been suggested we host a meeting of Team Captains to advise on policy and activities.

Some coaches have requested that CDA run an online tournament simultaneously with our in-person tournaments, either as a separate tournament (presents staffing issues) or through mixed online/in-person rounds (technically complex).

CDA emails are sent out using "bcc" due to the size of the mailing list and to avoid being blocked by spam filters.  We can publish a list of member schools, coaches and email addresses online, or we can simply circulate such a list to the member coaches.
