人々の価値観が急速に多様化し変化する中、ダイバーシティ&インクルージョン(D&I)に関するマインドセットや姿勢が問われています。今回は様々な障がいや病気を持つ個人に対する社会の価値観や美を再定義し、ストーリテラー/アーティストとして活躍するRozella氏をゲストに、D&Iの捉え方やアートが持つ役割などについて語ります。

When we talk about diversity and inclusion, what we talk about?

You may have heard on-going discussion about disability, ethnicity or race, gender, religion, sexual identity inclusiveness

considering discriminative incidents in our society today.

While we often understand the importance of embracing diversity and minimizing bias, it’s another thing entirely for individuals to come face-to-face with a bias they don’t know how to address. Empathy is also required to understand others’ emotions and values to build trust and create.

In this session, we will explore perspective towards Diversity&Inclusion, story-telling approaches, in particular how Art or Music help to foster empathy together with inspirational leader from Malaysia, Ms. Rozella Marie.

 

ダイバーシティ（多様性）&インクルージョン（包摂）という言葉を耳にした際、皆さんどのようなトピックを話題にしますか？

障がい、民族性や人種、ジェンダー、宗教、性的アイデンティティなど、社会における差別的な出来事を見聞きするなかで、インクルーシブネスに関する議論を耳にしたことがあるかもしれません。

しかし、私たちはダイバーシティを受け入れることや偏見をもたないことの重要性を頭では理解しているかもしれませんが、日常の生活において、実際にどのようにふるまえばよいか知っているでしょうか。

相手の感情や価値観を理解する「共感力；エンパシー（empathy）」を持つことや、相手の共感をひきだし、信頼関係を築いていくことは一つのヒントかもしれません。

 今回のオンラインセッションでは、ダイバーシティ(多様性)&インクルージョン（包摂）の捉え方や、他者から共感力を高めていくストーリーテリングのアプローチ、特に音楽やアートがどのような役割を持つか、などをマレーシアのインスピレーションリーダーであるRozella Marie氏をゲストに迎え、彼女の半生も伺いながら、一緒に考えていきたいと思います。

Rozella is the founder of "True Complexion", social awareness platform highlights individuals living with different medical conditions, disabilities and body image issues, to provide people who don’t necessarily fit into society’s definition of “normal” or “beautiful” a chance to share their stories.

As a journalist, singer, song-writer and artist, she is multitalented women in many ways. Rozella was chosen as Obama Foundation APAC Leaders, awarded The women of the Future Awards Southeast Asia 2019 , Marie Claire Amazing Women 2019 and many more.
