Welcome to WAACC, a FREE Arts+Culture Event located in Kalamazoo’s Edison Neighborhood, held quarterly on the second Saturday of October, January, April, and July.  WAACC is designed to connect venues in Washington Square to venues on Fulford Street. Each participating location will host an artist, performer, participatory art-making project or group activity.

Audiences and artists alike are encouraged to showcase and express themselves through this free, community-focused, family-friendly event. People of all backgrounds and skills are encouraged to participate. This includes underground, amateur, and under-represented artists in all mediums with a focus on welcoming culturally diverse and historically excluded populations such as black, indigenous, people of color and the queer community.

This event is walk-able, bike-able, pedestrian-friendly, and accessible via the regular #8 Egleston Metro Transit Bus, which connects all of the venues. Street parking is available.

Participating Venues include:

  • Dormouse Theatre
  • Move With Joy Dance School
  • Fire Historical and Cultural Arts Collaborative
