Upward Soccer Volunteers
As a volunteer, you are giving much more than just your time and energy. You are lending your life experiences, faith, and passion for sports to impact the lives of young athletes so that they have the opportunity to grow mentally, athletically, spiritually, and socially as they are prepared for success in the game, and in life.

Please read through volunteer descriptions below and chose the roles you will feel most comfortable serving in.

HEAD COACH
Use your talents and passion for sport to make sure each player feels welcome,
appreciated, inspired, and confident. Be the one to teach young athletes the rules
of the game, help them develop new skills through sport-specific drills, and instill a
competitive spirit that will prepare them for success in the game, and in life.
TIME COMMITMENT: 2 HOURS A WEEK

ASSISTANT COACH
Make a difference in the lives of young athletes by helping the head coach teach
both athletic skills and values for success. Use this time to see if you might want to
be a head coach in the future. TIME COMMITMENT: 2 HOURS A WEEK

REFEREE
Referees can make the necessary calls, uphold the integrity of the game, and help
athletes improve their understanding of the sport. We need you!
TIME COMMITMENT: 1 HOUR A WEEK

PRAYER PARTNER
Will you partner with us through prayer as we seek God in every aspect of our
league? We are in need of those who will be committed to praying each week for
our season to change lives.

TEAM AMBASSADOR
The role of the Team Ambassador is to make Upward families feel welcome at
PUMC. Each Team Ambassador should attend a practice and/or game each week
and get to know each family on their team. Ambassadors should tell families about
classes, worship services and other events at PUMC and invite them to attend.
HALFTIME DEVOTION LEADER
The halftime of each game provides a key opportunity to engage spectators with a
lesson about Christ and his love for us through a fun and interactive experience.
You can help point spectators to Christ through leading one of these activities or
sharing a brief devotion.
