Do you want to help ensure that Girls Rock Campaign Boston (GRCB) is able to sustainably deliver innovative and transformative programming to youth and adults in the Boston area?! Join the Grants Team!

Grants Team Members work throughout the year to help GRCB secure funding from local and national foundations. We are also seeking a volunteer to lead the team! See full descriptions of Grants Team Member and Grants Team Lead positions below!

While familiarity with non-profits, foundations, or development is a plus, it is not a requirement. If you are passionate about the work GRCB is doing, like to write and work individually and sometimes in a small group, this is the team for you!

Grants Team Member
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
-Work collaboratively with members of the Grant Writing Team to prepare and submit grant proposals to foundations with the support of the Team Lead and Executive Director.
-Utilize current resources and content to formulate written proposals specific to the requirements of a variety of foundations.
Support impact research and researches grant opportunities

TIME COMMITMENT
-Year-round participation in proposal writing and/or editing is based on your availability and capacity. We will develop a calendar of availability to correspond with deadlines of proposals.
-Time commitment for author or editor varies depending on proposal
-Meet 3-5 times a year with the Grants Team (made up of 5-10 volunteers and the Executive Director), virtually or in person when conditions permit.

QUALIFICATIONS
-Strong written communication skills; ability to write clear, structured, articulate, and persuasive proposals
-Strong editing skills
-Attention to detail
-Ability to keep track of multiple projects and deadlines
-Ability to meet deadlines.
-Strong contributor in team environments
-Proficiency in Google Drive, including Google Calendar, Google Docs and Google Sheets, a plus but not required
-Familiarity with non-profits, foundations, or development a plus but not a requirement
-Experience with proposal writing or in development is a plus, but not a requirement

SUPPORT
Onboarding will include an orientation to GRCB and to the Grant Writing Team, as well as, a training on Fundraising and Development. Ongoing support will be provided via regular communications with the Grants Team Lead and fellow Grants Team Members, and participation in Grants Team Meetings. GRCB is committed to providing ongoing training and support needed to help volunteers be successful in their roles.

Grants Team Lead
GRCB is seeking a volunteer to lead the Grants Team and support the coordination of our efforts to submit an estimated 12-15 proposals and letters of inquiry, to local and national foundations, each year.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
-Coordinate efforts of a team of 5-10 volunteers
-Facilitate the proposal submission process by reminding writers of deadlines, copy-editing drafts, ensuring that Executive Director has completed materials and supplements for submission
-Maintain a spreadsheet of upcoming and completed grant requests, with deadlines, submission dates, amounts requested, designated writers, etc.
-Update Google calendar with important deadlines and other dates
-Maintain and file proposals and letters in Google Drive
-Schedule and facilitate 3-5 meetings a year with the Grants Team (made up of 5-10 volunteers and the Executive Director), virtually, or in person once conditions change.
-Research and identify possible funding sources, including following up on leads, accessing the Foundation Center or GuideStar databases, and visiting foundation websites
-Opportunities to help with writing tasks if interested

-This position requires coordination of the team's efforts to submit an estimated 12-15 proposals and letters of inquiry a year to request foundation support.
-This includes consistent monitoring and updating of grants calendar, communication with the Team, and maintenance of files in Google Drive
-Independent year round research of possible funders
-Meet 3-5 times a year with the Grants Team (made up of 5-10 volunteers and the Executive Director), virtually or in person when conditions permit.
