Hello fellow hikers!
Come join us as we venture through the hills of Buda, which is a captivating journey into the heart of Budapest's natural beauty and historical charm. As we ascend the gently rolling hills that flank the western side of the Danube River, you'll find yourself immersed in a landscape that seamlessly blends urban sophistication with tranquil wilderness!
Time: 11:30 (please arrive in time so that the whole group can depart at 12 pm)
Date: Saturday 7th October
Length of the hike: 8-9 km, approximately 2-3 hours
Tour itinerary:
The hike starts from the car park at Fenyőgyöngye, from where we immediately start climbing up the hill, this climb is perhaps the only part that is a little more difficult, as a relatively steep concrete road takes us into the forest.
Once off the road, we come to a lookout point, where we can stop for a breather (1st stop) and a look around, as this is a beautiful view of an older part of Buda, from there we continue on a longer walk along a ledge, where we can admire the view all the way.
After a short walk, we head to the top of the hill, where we reach the highest point and make our 2nd stop. Here you can take a longer break and soak up the beauty of the Three Hills Airport.
Once everyone has rested and had a sandwich, we continue our journey. We descend down the hill along this section, and follow the wooded section along the main road back to the car park where the tour ends.
Recommended equipment:- Hiking boots or closed-toe shoes
- Warm clothing (an extra layer is recommended on the mountain top due to the cooler weather and wind)
- Snacks (a couple of sandwiches or biscuits are sufficient)
- Water (it is recommended to bring at least 1 litre of water, as it will not be possible to refill it at the top)
