Academic calendar system *
By "Semesters" we mean an academic calendar system that is based on two main terms (usually Fall and Spring), plus a Summer term(which is commonly shorter and with a smaller course offering), and/or a much shorter Winter session. e.g: Brown University.    By "Quarters" we mean an academic calendar system based on three main terms (usually Fall, Winter and Spring), plus a Summer term ( can be shorter and usually with smaller course offering). If your school goes by a similar system, but under a different name, please select the corresponding option among those two.
Total number of courses required -- Numerical values only, please *
A "course" is defined here as a single term unit. So, for example, in a Semesters system sequences like Algebra I (in the fall) and Algebra II (in the spring) count as 2 courses. Similarly,  a year long sequence in a Quarters system counts as 3 courses.
Minimum number of courses required year 1 -- numerical values, please
Course is defined as above. Is there a minimum number of courses the program requires on a PhD student's first year?
Number of required courses to be taken after year 2 (or after advancing to candidacy) -- Numerical values please *
Some programs have a course requirement beyond the first two years in the program. If this is flexible in your program, write the  minimum number of courses to be taken after year 2. For example, at NYU,  students are required to take 24 courses, but they cannot register past 20 courses before passing an oral qualifying exam (usually at the end of year 2). If I were filling this for NYU, I'd enter "4" here (even though it would seem that it's okay to take more than 4/24 courses during year 3 or later)
If you have any comments to clarify course requirements past year 2, please do so here.
Is there a TA requirement at the same time as students are taking courses?
Clear selection
How many required courses need to be graduate level courses? Numerical answers only please, or "unclear"
Are any specific courses required? (e.g. real or complex analysis, algebra....)
