The GSA welcomes non-North American members to its annual conferences, and it can provide financial support as a fund of last resort for a very small number of non-North American participants.
Scholars who seek such support are expected to have applied to other organizations, such as the Deutsche Akademische Austauschdienst (DAAD) or the Austrian Cultural Forum New York (ACFNY); click
here and scroll down the page for further information. Should applicants be unable to obtain funding elsewhere, the GSA can reimburse recipients for a maximum of
US$1500 for airfare and hotel costs.
It is expected that the recipient will stay in the conference hotel. Should reimbursement prove a financial or logistical burden, other arrangements may be made on a case-by-case basis.
Incomplete applications will not be considered.
There is no fixed deadline for applications; however, members are urged to apply as soon as they can demonstrate that they have exhausted all funding possibilities in their home countries after receiving official GSA confirmation of their accepted participation.
Recipients may not receive funding in two consecutive years.
