Hello students! We can't wait to welcome you to Texas Tech and to Lubbock, Texas!
Thank you for taking the time to sign up for International Student Orientation. Orientation is designed to help you prepare for your time at Texas Tech. You will learn about the various resources offered on campus, meet staff from the Office of International Affairs, and interact with current students. This is meant to be informative and note-taking is encouraged.
TIME and DATE:
January 11, 2021, 8:50 AM to ~2:30 PM at the TTU Museum, 3301 4th St, Lubbock, TX 79415*
*if weather permits, a walking tour, our campus familiarization scavenger hunt, will be offered the final 1.5 hours of the day and will end at Memorial Circle. We will offer return rides from Memorial Circle back to the museum for drivers who left vehicles at the museum.
We will cover the following information:
- TTU Traditions
-Risk Management
-Immigration
-US Healthcare and insurance
-campus tour scavenger hunt facilitated by Global Guides (if weather permits)
You will also:
-Hear from the Vice Provost of International Affairs, Dr. Sukant Misra
-Meet the ISSS team and your F-1 counselor
-Enjoy a meet and greet with Global Guides (current students here to help you transition)
-Experience a resource fair featuring the many services across campus that will help you build a well-rounded life while here at TTU
-receive lunch, an ISL t-shirt and a game day tote
-become familiar with campus and the many resources it offers
-participate in a small group activity facilitated by Global Guides
-have the opportunity to build relationships with Global Guides and fellow new students
