Auditions and tech interviews for The Hobbit are open to students in grades 4-12.  

Students may audition for a role in the cast, or for a role on the Dedicated Technician team.  Students interested in both options will also go through both the audition and the technician interview process during the same time slot.  

ACTOR REQUIREMENTS:
Those auditioning for the cast will be asked to perform a short monologue. You should choose ONE of these linked here: https://northfieldartsguild.org/assets/THE-HOBBIT-AUDITION-MONOLOGUE-CHOICES.pdf  Memorizing your monologue is the best way to show off your skills; but if you must read it, that’s okay, too. Find one that you like, and have fun developing a character. 

TECH REQUIREMENTS:
Those interviewing for a Dedicated Technician role need not prepare anything in advance.

LOCATION:  Auditions and tech interviews will be held at the Northfield Arts Guild Theater, 411 Third Street W, Northfield, MN.

IMPORTANT DATES:
Parents, please send along a calendar of any rehearsal conflict dates/times to the auditions and interviews. We will begin August 24, 2020.  Cast rehearsals run Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays 4:00 - 6:30pm.  Tech times run Mondays,  Tuesdays, and Thursdays 6:00 - 8:00pm, and some Saturday mornings.  We will all meet together during tech week (the week before performances), and tech week rehearsals are typically longer.

STUDENT TUITION:
Tuition is $157.50 for Guild members and $175 for non-members.. Registration is only available to those in the cast or assigned to the crew.  Scholarships may be available.
