UC Can’t Ghost SRU | March to deliver statewide resolution & Postdoc Bargaining Demands (UC Merced)

The votes are in... but it seems like UC wants to play the villain this October.

A supermajority of Student Researchers – including Trainees and Fellows – have chosen to form SRU-UAW by signing union authorization cards. In response, UC attempted to circumvent the law and to divide and weaken Student Researchers’ bargaining power by offering union recognition to GSRs, but not Student Researchers paid by fellowships and training grants (Fellows and Trainees).

UC is testing the resolve of Student Researchers to form our union of, by, and for all of us. In order to win union recognition and get to the bargaining table as soon as possible, SRs must demonstrate our unity and willingness to take action together. We will be joined by UAW 5810 as post-doctoral researchers also fight for a strong contract against the UC's attempts to weaken their rights.

Come on out to the Admin Building on Oct. 28th as we deliver the statewide resolution to campus leaders to demand them recognize SRU in our entirety and leave no one behind!
