Dear Families,
For the past few weeks, our Instructional and Safety Task Forces have continued to meet to
discuss possible options to physically reopen our schools in the fall. These Task Forces compose
of staff members as well as parents, and the Task Forces were created to provide input on the
processes to reopen while keeping health and safety a number one priority.
On June 9th at 6:00PM, the Superintendent held a meeting with all families to share information
about possible options that the District is exploring to support in reopening its schools. If you
were not able to attend the meeting, please find the presentation, in English and Spanish, on
the District website under “Fall Planning,”
www.sssd.k12.ca.us.
As the Superintendent has shared in the Friday messages, the District has been waiting on the
Los Angeles County Department of Public Health to finalize its reopening plans, since the
District will need to follow the directives in this document. In order for the District to finalize its
plans, we want to gather additional information from our families. It is important for the
District to gather specific information from each family to better prepared.
Please complete this survey for each of your children enrolled in the Sulphur Springs Union
School District. The information that you provide will support the District in knowing what type
of models it needs to prepare for, and will support with knowing which teaching assignments
need to be created. Please know that if the state and county guidelines allow districts in LA
County to fully open with all students attending at one time, the District will do so. However, at
this time, districts in LA County have not been given these directives and therefore our District
needs to prepare using an alternative model.
We thank you for your continued support and feedback as we plan to reopen in the fall.
