BACKGROUND:
The Tribal Exchange Network Group (TXG) is a diverse team of tribal professionals working with federally recognized tribes across the US to provide access to the knowledge, tools, and resources they can use to accomplish their environmental data management goals. The mission of the TXG is to support tribes’ management, analysis, and sharing of their environmental data, so they can use this data to advocate for their interests in order to preserve tribal lifeways, maintain cultural integrity, and enhance tribal members’ sense of place.
The Exchange Network is a collaborative effort focused on improving and expanding access to resources that support decision-makers and community members through internet-based services and networks that share timely environmental information (
http://www.exchangenetwork.net/). The TXG is a Tribal Partnership Group funded by a cooperative agreement through the US Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Office of Mission Support - Environmental Information (OMS-EI) to expand tribal awareness of, and participation in, the Exchange Network's innovative solutions. Their work is administered and supported by the Institute for Tribal Environmental Professionals (ITEP) at Northern Arizona University (NAU).

WHO CAN JOIN:
Membership is open to employees of federally recognized tribes and tribal-serving organizations who are approved by their supervisor to volunteer their time to contribute according to the expectations outlined in the TXG Charter.
