To the Residents of Columbia County:
In October 2020, the Columbia County Police Reform Panel was
formed with the objective of improving and reforming the policies, procedures
and practices of local police agencies. The goal of this panel is to promote
community engagement and work toward fostering trust, fairness and transparency
between the police agencies and the various communities they serve. In an
effort to work toward advancing reform, we have developed an annual survey
which will be made available for the public to complete from January 15th
through March 1st. The data gathered from these surveys will be
analyzed by our panel and used to assess how our local police agencies are
performing during their encounters with the public, while also providing us with
an opportunity to address any areas of concern.
We ask that you answer these survey* questions honestly and
based upon your feelings, opinions and experiences with the following agencies ONLY:
Columbia County Sheriff’s Office
Town of Greenport Police Department
Village of Philmont Police Department
Town of Stockport Police Department
*Please note that this survey DOES NOT include the
New York State Police or any other New York State Law Enforcement Agency, the
City of Hudson Police Department or the Village of Chatham Police Department.
Additionally, his survey may only be completed for one agency at a time. If you
have had interactions with multiple agencies and wish to provide feedback for
each, you may do so by completing a new survey for each agency.
