2020 International Indigenous Tourism Conference - Call for Speakers
The International Indigenous Tourism Conference (IITC) is an annual conference that brings people together who are interested and invested in creating and contributing towards a growing Indigenous tourism industry in Canada and globally. This year, the Indigenous Tourism Association of Canada (ITAC) will host the 9th annual International Indigenous Tourism Conference. The 2020 IITC is taking place September 29 - October 1, 2020, in Treaty 1 Territory and the Homeland of the Métis in Winnipeg Manitoba. Last year, the IITC was held on the unceded territory of the Syilx people in Kelowna, British Columbia.
The IITC is the leading international conference on Indigenous tourism trends, issues, and topics. This forum hosts conversations, case studies, and networking opportunities for Indigenous tourism operators, supporters and partners from across Canada and globally. The Indigenous Tourism Association of Canada invites speakers interested in delivering helpful, practical, and real-world information to all conference participants. We expect that speakers will clearly demonstrate how their presentation will align with this year's theme "Adventure to Understanding."
The focus for IITC sessions is on practical and tangible actions that delegates can have as takeaways from each individual session. Speaking opportunities range from speaking as an individual, on a panel, or as part of a round-table. You should be comfortable speaking to large groups, as between 600-800 delegates attend the conference each year.
