Hilo AYSO runs on volunteer power! You can
register to volunteer to coach or referee on the field. You can support your team in very direct ways, such as bringing the player tent or setting up field equipment. OR you can sign up here to support Hilo AYSO as a larger organization.
You decide what that looks like!We have 4 distinct crews that need volunteer support:
- Fields Team
- Events Team
- Equipment Team
- Communications Team
These crews will work under the direction of a board member, and may either meet during off-field hours, during practice, or work entirely online.
- The fields team maintains lines on the fields. Each division needs one person on the field team. There is a field lining event before games each season; after this, field team members can maintain the lines during their players' practice or on their own time.
- The events team handles logistics for Hilo AYSO events. This may include placing reservations or taking a shift on an event day. There is currently one event day each season.
- The equipment team helps inventory and sorts team bags as required by the equipment manager. This usually involves a pre- or post- season event at the equipment container. The equipment manager may also reach out to this volunteer pool when Hilo AYSO property needs to be organized or moved.
- The communications team works online. These members use their voice to spread information in a timely manner. Members may choose to build graphics, update social streams, edit emails, or update the website. Familiarity with Google Drive is essential, as all relevant information will be shared internally here and then distributed by this team.
