October 4: Benefits of a Companion Animal with PawsAbilities
4:00pm - 5:00pm

In this 60 minute session, Marla from PawsAbilities will share the therapeutic benefits of having a companion animal. She will also go over the lifestyle changes that come with responsible pet ownership that create numerous healthy habits which bring about a lot of positive effects on mental health and social well-being. 

October 12: Open Studio with Maigan (Theme - Word Play)
2:30pm - 4:00pm


Join OPEN♥ART for a chance to create alongside others, share and experiment with different art forms. Each month will include a different approach to art-making that aims to inspire your inner artist and bring us together in creativity.  Artists of all levels and abilities are welcome! The theme is: Word Play Words have a lot of power, and they can be funny and playful too. Using a few different writing prompts, we will experiment with creating images, evoking feelings, and communicating our ideas using words. All styles encouraged. 

Art Supplies Required (your choice): Tablet/computer/paper; Pencil/pen/marker or crayons 


October 13: Navigating the APP Workshop with Rabia
10am-11am

Join Rabia from the Gateway to Digital Inclusion APP Team to learn how to navigate our APP. Together we will explore all the different channels, participate in engaging activities and meet other community folks!

October 14: Gateway to Advocacy: Know Your Rights with Voices of Albertans with Disabilities
1:30pm - 3:00pm
Facilitated by Michelle Bissell

The goal of this presentation is to break down barriers to accessibility and inclusion by creating awareness and understanding for people living with disabilities. Radical Inclusion gives interactive presentations about Ableism, Appropriate language and Behaviors, Dignity, Spoon Theory and many more. Each presentation is tailored to a specific audience. The presenters themselves live with a disability, so they bring personal perspectives and experiences to the presentation via their own stories
