Based on meeting specific student criteria, you have been selected to participate in this online survey related to assessing effective teaching practices at the college level.

This survey is a part of a research project which is being conducted by Christina Leshko, a Sociology instructor at SUNY Canton. The purpose of this survey is to collect information about the ways that undergraduate students experience their instructor’s teaching style and campus environment.

You are being invited to participate in this project by completing this online survey. The survey has 50 questions and should take 15 to 20 minutes to complete. In order to participate, you must be at least 18 years of age and have participated in an undergraduate college course (in-person, online, or hybrid) for some part of the 2020-21 school year.

Your participation in this survey is strictly voluntary. The risks to you as a participant are minimal and you may refuse to participate or discontinue your participation at any time. If you decide to complete the survey, all information you submit will remain anonymous. Data gathered from this survey will be summarized in the aggregate, excluding all references to any individual responses. I will be asking about and collecting data about personal demographics. I will store the data from this survey in my password protected SUNY Canton computer, I will maintain control of that data at all times, and I will retain the collected data for five years after the study closes or after final publication of the results, whichever is later. I will compile and discuss the results of this survey in future academic conferences and publications. You will not incur any costs nor will you be compensated directly for your participation in this study.

At the end of the survey, you will have the option to provide your e-mail address to participate in a lottery for a $20 virtual Visa gift card. Your e-mail will not be used for any other purpose and you are not obligated to provide it. Participation in the lottery is optional.
