Women in the Wild - Bringing Women Outside!
Calling all adventurous women ready to explore the Grand Canyon for the first time! Discover the awe-inspiring beauty of the Grand Canyon alongside a supportive group of fellow female adventurers. Whether you're a novice hiker or a seasoned trailblazer, our expedition is tailored to ensure a safe and empowering experience for everyone.
No hiking experience necessary - just a spirit of adventure. We've got your back every step of the way. While trekking through the Canyon, we will share empowering stories, learn art, and practice stress management techniques. We will learn about the local flora and fauna of the canyon and spend time in meditation and reflection. This day trip will include about 4 miles of hiking and includes all art supplies.
Our group size will be intentionally small, so don’t wait to step out of your comfort zone and into the extraordinary!
Cost: $75 This is a fundraising event for our Forest School. The fee includes the cost of art supplies and a guided hike into the canyon, and supports our initiative of getting kids outside. Please bring your own water, (3 liters minimum), food, and hiking backpack, and wear good shoes and comfortable layers.
What to expect: Steep ascents and descents. The weather in the Grand Canyon can be unpredictable, with temperature variations between the rim and the canyon floor. Wear sturdy, comfortable hiking boots with good ankle support. The trails can be rocky and uneven! The total hike to/from Cedar Ridge can take about 3 hours and is 3 miles. It is a moderate effort hike and is 1,200 feet of climbing.
MEET YOUR FELLOW ADVENTURERS IN THE FLAGSTAFF MALL PARKING LOT NEAR THE JC PENNY ENTRANCE. SATURDAY, MAY 18 AT 9 AM. WE WILL CAR POOL TO THE SOUTH RIM VIA THE EAST ENTRANCE AND DESERT VIEW .
