The Cambridge University Society for Health Policy and Management
is delighted to welcome Professor Sir Michal Marmot, the founding father of
social epidemiology, to speak on Social Justice and Health Equity.
Professor Marmot is Professor of Epidemiology and Public
Health at University College London, Director of the UCL Institute of Health
Equity, and former President of The World Medical Association. He led the Whitehall
Studies, which demonstrated that a poor social standing is detrimental to
health, even when other risk factors are controlled for. He was chair of the
Marmot Review into health inequalities in England, and is author of ‘The Health
Gap: The Challenge of an Unequal World’.
The talk will be on zoom from 18:30-19:30 on Thursday 16th
February. Sign up below to receive the meeting link.
