What is the HiSET? The HiSET® test is a high school equivalency testing program that will help you take the next step toward a college degree or a rewarding career. Residency: You must provide a government issued photo ID and (if needed) one other form of identification with your  Maine address to prove you are a resident of Maine.

Fees: The HiSET program is free to Maine residents when taken through an Adult Ed program.
